MCRMA members offer a wide range of CPDs - Siderise Insulation is the latest company to add their CPDs to the web site. Click to find out more. MCRMA has launched a campaign highlighting that impact drives should NOT be used to install fasteners. Read the recent article from 'Total Contractor' magazine. MCRMA has elected Clare Fenton as its new chairperson following its AGM - Clare is the first woman to hold the office since the MCRMA's formation 31 years ago.

Clare has more than 20 years' experience in the construction industry and alongside her husband developed Mark Fenton Design Services, a specialist drawing office for the roofing and cladding sector. The MCRMA was formed in 1990 to support the systems manufacturers in the emerging metal cladding and roofing industry.

Since then MCRMA has evolved to encompass the needs of component manufacturer suppliers, systems installers, independent roofing and cladding inspectors plus industry support services providers, all providing independent building envelope solutions for metal-based roofing and cladding systems, products and services.
Services
For over 30 years, MCRMA has been the leading trade association in the metal building envelope sector and is proud to represent the companies involved in the manufacture and supply of products, components and systems for the industrial, commercial and warehouse sector and also those companies who are involved in inspection and support services.
As the voice for the industry, MCRMA works closely with a variety of industry bodies and standards committees to develop building envelope solutions and to disseminate best practice, ensuring that its members always operate to the highest standards.
Systems manufacturers who produce profiled or formed metal roof and wall cladding and manufacturers of rainscreen cladding systems and panels.
Component manufacturers who produce the ancillary components that are used to complete the building envelope.
System installers who take an active part in the construction and installation process and deliver quality workmanship.
Independent roofing and cladding inspectors who can provide guidance at the design and installation stages and the operational phase.
The Rainscreen Group, formed from companies within MCRMA membership, includes the principal companies who supply metal based systems and component parts used within the fabrication and construction of rainscreen cladding systems.
Members of the group have been involved in the development of rainscreen systems over many years and have an extensive knowledge of their use and application on all types of buildings.
In addition, the rainscreen group provides a technical focus for specifiers who wish to use these highly aesthetic systems on prestigious new build developments or refurbishment projects.
Metal based roofing and cladding is the primary product for the industrial, commercial and warehouse sector plus associated sectors such as the agricultural and rural building market.
In addition, a systems-based design approach can provide envelope solutions for stadia, concert halls, sports arenas and transport hubs together with large open space distribution centres and environmentally controlled spaces.
Pre-coated profiled steel and aluminium and self-finished material is widely available in a range of different profiles and aesthetic colours and finishes to suit every application.
Structural roof decking offers the benefits of long span construction, enabling the design of lighter and more economic structures; structural decks are specified for use within many high performance roof installations, typically supporting secret-fix/standing seam outer skin roof products.
By spanning a decking profile from rafter to rafter, the need for purlins can be eliminated in a portal frame design.
A structural deck will perform the function of transferring dynamic and dead loads of the roof covering to the frame, and will also provide the necessary lateral restraint to the main structural frame.
