Areco was founded in the mid 1960s by former roofing contractors Ralph Stride and Charlie Jones.
Ralph and Charlie identified a need for a quicker, neater alternative to traditional welted drips and Aluminium Trim was born.
The business grew quickly and soon they were selling trim by the ton to well known manufacturers and contractors of the day.
Soon associated products such as breather vents and roof drains followed and in the early 1990s our renowned Glasstrim GRP Trim brand was launched.
Glasstrim is still our best selling line today.

Glasstrim is a glass reinforced polyester roof edge trim, designed to provide a weatherproof, decorative finish and strong clean lines to the roof edge.
It also has a high glass fibre content giving a low coefficient of thermal expansion, solving the problem of splitting and leaks at the roof edge.
This roof edge trim provides permanent colour and resists corrosion and the extremes of atmospheric pollution.
Glasstrim is available ex-stock and all sections are standard 2.5 metre lengths supplied with a 75mm internal jointing sleeve.
It also has a high glass fibre content giving a low coefficient of thermal expansion, solving the problem of splitting and leaks at the roof edge.
This roof edge trim provides permanent colour and resists corrosion and the extremes of atmospheric pollution.

Areco are able to manufacture twice bent trims to customer specification for most roofing applications.
Nutrim should be fixed with corrosion resistant fixings suitable for the substrate at no more than 300mm (12) centres with the ends of each length firmly secured.
A minimum of 8 fixings per length is recommended.
A gap of 3mm should be left between each length to allow for expansion.
Areco are able to manufacture twice bent trims to customer specification for most roofing applications.

The area that can be effectively ventilated by a "Mega-Vent" is determined by the materials used in the construction of the roof.
Moisture is present in most roofs.
A newly screeded concrete deck takes a long time to dry out thoroughly and when the deck is waterproofed, residual moisture from the screeded concrete is trapped with no means of escape.
Where an existing roof covering has failed and moisture has penetrated the roof structure, Breather Vents should be installed with the replacement waterproof membrane (felt or asphalt).
