My work over the last 32 years has all been done to the original British Standards specifications. Firstly we push back the bottom row of tiles, at this point we fit a new strip of felt as the original felt will have almost certainly rotted away. The job of the felt is to ensure the rainwater comes off the bottom row if tiles and feeds it straight into the gutters.
Now remove the existing timber fascias. These are replaced with a new solid treated kiln dried backing board, pressure treated to British Standard 5589. The purpose of this board is to take the weight of the heavy tiles. This board has to be kiln dried timber so it will not sweat with the PVCu fascias on top of it. The PVCu is fitted over the kiln dried timber with 40mm stainless steel wire nails.
Once done we then put up the new gutters and downpipes. For all our new installations we then offer HALF PRICE cleaning for 5 years and with this comes adding an extra year to the 10 year guarantee each year. So with this service the guarantee will never expire, if at any time anything is required, it's all sorted for free.

The soffit is the horizontal board that you look up at from underneath.
We remove the old soffit if possible and fit the maintenance free interlocking soffit boards conforming to British Board of Agreement Standard 83/1185/C to the whole of the property.
In most modern day properties the soffit is made of asbestos, this will not rot and is better left undisturbed for health reasons.
In this case the maintenance free interlocking soffit board will be fitted over the asbestos soffit.
This is the only recognised method of installing PVCu soffit boards.
