Services
Ask Roofing is a local, family-run business operating in North Lancashire and the Lake District.
We pride ourselves on high quality workmanship, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the use of natural and recycled materials wherever possible.
With two decades of experience within the trade, we work hard to provide a personalised service that is tailored to the specific needs of each unique job and client.
Much of our work comes from customer recommendations, which is testament to the excellent level of service that we consistently deliver.
A quality new roof can last for over 100 years.
We use new slate from local sources, for example Burlington Blue or Westmorland Green slate which is in keeping with the local architecture.
For other applications, we may source slate internationally, from Europe or South America.
The process of creating a new roof generates less waste and the effect is stunning.
We always use the highest quality materials, for example timber and fixings to ensure the durability of all our work.
We have specialist experience of listed building roof work in the Lake District and North Lancashire.
The roof and its underlying structure are some of the most important features of a listed building and many have survived for hundreds of years.
We do everything we can to repair rather than replace and use salvaged and reclaimed materials or natural alternatives.
Consent isn't usually needed if matching materials are used to complete a like for like repair, but any alteration to the roof's shape, height and pitch, internal structure or type of covering will require Listed Building Consent, as will the addition of rooflights.
By salvaging what we can of the existing slate, and supplementing with carefully sourced used slate which matches the original, we can produce a beautiful and durable roof which matches the existing character of the building.
When applicable, the rebuilt roof will last for many more years, and the cost can be kept down.
We always use the highest quality materials to ensure a quality finish and long life.
We can use lead cladding as an alternative to tiles, PVC panelling or oak cladding and it has the benefit of durability - giving year round protection and remaining corrosion free when professionally installed and treated.
It is a really good option for vertical panelling.
We've installed lead cladding around dormer windows, to fascias and cornice work and can work on pitched and vertical surfaces.
Lead capping and cornices are most often used for historic or listed buildings but it is a fantastic option to consider for any project due to its durability and longevity - outlasting concrete, stone, and membrane.
