Greyfriars Roofing was founded in 1998 by Steve McLennan, a specialist in lead work for over 35 years. He is a member of the institute of roofing and sits on the NFRC Heritage Roofing Committee for the UK and on the Scottish Regional Committee. We are one of the five accredited Heritage Roof Masters in Scotland. Our team are all highly skilled, having achieved Heritage Skills Gold Cards for lead working.
Only Gold Card holders are qualified to carry out work on pre 1919 buildings having demonstrated the skills required. Even our apprentices are in the process of achieving approved qualifications (SVQ's in specialist lead working and slating). We use only traditional techniques and work to industry standards as required by the Lead Sheet Association (LSA) and BS5534 for slating.
We are members of the Lead Contractors Association, being finalists in the Murdoch Sponsors Award in 2010 http://www.leadcontractorsassociation.com/main/. We are members of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors, being winners in the Heritage Roofing Category in Scotland 2011 and 2014.

Should you choose Greyfriars to carry out the repairs, we will provide you with photographs of the completed work, which will help in assuring future purchasers that the roof has been repaired to the highest of standards.
We carry full liability insurance and with prior agreement, and payment of a small fee, we can provide an insurance backed guarantee for 25 years, covering workmanship or insolvency of the contractor which gives peace of mind for future years.
