Archibald McCorquodale & Son Ltd was founded in 1911 as jobbing slaters based in the Govanhill area of Glasgow.
We are proud of the fact that we have always been owned and managed by the same family.
Currently the fourth generation, the great grandsons of the founder run the company.
Over the years we have responded to market needs and have diversified from our roots.
Although we still frequently undertake jobbing roof repairs, we additionally undertake full slate and tile re-roofing works, leadwork renewals and repairs, external fabric repairs, all trades refurbishment contracts and general building maintenance works.

The Company is owned and managed by Colin McCorquodale, a Chartered Building Surveyor with some 24 years industry experience and Gavin McCorquodale, a time served roof slater and tiler with some 25 years experience.

Colin is currently Chairman of the NFRC, Scottish Region and also represents the Scottish region on the NFRC national Heath and Safety and Slating and Tiling committees.
In addition, our Contracts manager Gavin Cross is a time served joiner with over 20 years experience.

This may involve anything from minor jobbing maintenance work such as replacing a small number of slipped slates to a full strip and re-slate of a large roof.
We are well equipped and experienced in all aspects of work associated with roof slating and tiling.
This will typically include items such as all leadwork detailing, wallhead gutters, flashings, flat roofs, rainwater goods, all roofline products and render repairs to wallheads or chimneyheads.
